Because CAAR is a nonprofit research organization, its H-1B petitions are cap-exempt and are not subject to random lottery selection.
Cap-exempt petitions can be filed at any point during the year not limited to the annual H-1B cap filing window.
Once a beneficiary holds cap-exempt H-1B status through CAAR, any employer can sponsor a concurrent, full-time H-1B without being subject to the lottery.
H-1B is capped at six years. To extend it beyond the sixth year, you must have an approved Form I-140
